Synopsis: A man with no direction in his life lets his mother and girlfriend push him toward a military career. But just before he's about to ship out, he meets a gay man who helps him figure out what he truly wants.
Quick review: There are a lot of low-budget gay movies. Most of them have a low budget for a reason, but every once in a while you come across one that is very sweet. That's the case with this film. Nate has a fiance and mother who have pretty much taken over control of his life. He would probably be a car mechanic, if he could make his own decisions. But there are no jobs like that in his small town, so the women team up to get him to enlist with the Marines. The one thing he truly wants for himself, is to meet his father. But his mother refuses to tell him who that is and insists he quit trying to find out. Andy, on the other hand, has his own problems. He met and fell in love with military man and is having trouble getting over the end of the relationship (he shipped out). He believes that if he can just recapture that one perfect night they spent together, perhaps he could then move on. He has his own mommy issues and other responsibilities. The two of them meet by chance, a porn director was hoping to get them to be his newest stars. They develop a friendship before any hint of romance appears, both helping the other through his many issues. And when the fling happens, the viewer understands that this probably isn't love, it's just two lost souls who are both damaged and in need of another human being, and that's fine. Not trying to force a "love conquers all" ending and allowing the relationships to be complicated are two reasons why this low budget film is very sweet and worth checking out.
