Quick review:
'Thelma & Louise' had two women taking control of their lives while running from the law. It was not, however, a lesbian film. That Brad Pitt (looking as yummy as ever) got in the way of that. In 'Drool,' we get a Thelma & Louise story that is full lesbian. Anora is a Tulsa housewife living a horrible life. Her two children have issues and her husband is mean and controlling. He definitely has his own issues, which we find out about just before he's shot and killed. Anora's life becomes a bit more bearable when Imogene moves in next door. Despite her husband's objections of being friendly with a black person, the two become close. So close that Imogene is soon invading the fantasy world Anora escapes into when life becomes too much. When Anora's husband catches the two women kissing on their bed, well bullets will fly. There is soon a dead husband to get rid of and two children to tame. Road trip! The movie is interesting and has fun moments, but it's hard to buy into it. There are no consequences for actions, children helping to pack ice around their dead father, etc. But if you're a Thelma & Louise fan and just wished for a little more woman on woman action, this is the film for you.
